Regency Athletic Complex

The Regency Athletic Complex at MSU Denver is home to Roadrunners baseball, softball, soccer, and tennis. The outdoor athletic complex was located on a site south of campus that was designated as a Hazardous Site when the project began.  Hazardous material in the soil was remediated and the site is now home to a Baseball Stadium, Softball Field, soccer Stadium and 8 Tennis courts that terrace down the grade from east to west.   In addition to the outdoor sports facilities, a 20,000-square foot building houses locker rooms for each sports team, along with a state-of-the-art weight room and athletic training room. The building also features a student-athlete lounge and meeting rooms.  The complex is on the edge of the downtown skyline and has a clear view of the front range to the west.

MSU Denver had originally planned for the complex to be built in two phases with the Tennis complex being built first.  After exploring multiple planning and design concepts with a two-phase approach, the organization and placement of components was always less than ideal.  Mr. Voorhees asked steering committee members if they would consider a single construction phase, showing how the organization of the site components would improve if Tennis did not have to be built first.  The Steering committee realized the superior benefits of the alternative concept and directed the design team to move forward with the single phased approach.

Roadrunner tennis teams began play at The Regency Athletic Complex in 2013, Soccer began in 2014 and baseball and softball began plan in 2015.  In addition to MSU Denver Athletics, The Regency Athletic Complex is also host to many community events and young sports leagues.
